3 Life Lessons from a 10 year olds baseball game
Tonight, as with all Wednesdays I was at my 10 year old son’s baseball game. It is always fun to watch the boys on his team. This season especially has been fun due to the skills that these boys have are really coming along. I coached my son’s teams from Kindergarten tee ball up until last year. It seems that every year, they keep getting better and better. Tonight was especially fun for me as I usually stand right behind the bench and cheer on the boys. There were three distinct things that I observed tonight that I wanted to share.
One of the players on my son’s team is named Illya. He and his family came to the United States from Russia. His parents have no doubt had some rough challenges in their lives, but one would never notice. The neat part about their son is that he is always smiling! He is a very good player, but like most baseball players has a few downs with the ups. When you watch this young lad play, you would never guess if his game has been great or difficult that night. He runs off and onto the field with energy that most of us adults can only dream about. You see, Illya is not the strongest player, he is not the tallest player nor is he the fastest player. What he does have is a huge heart and love for the game!
The second thing I noticed was that of my son. Yes, I will do a little shameless bragging here…but oh well, the point is still great! At any rate, he had a rough two innings to start the game in the field. He missed two routine grounders hit to him at 3rd base. In the third inning, there was a runner at third. The batter hit a pop fly just behind the third base bag which my son caught. He then ran to the bag where the runner had broken for home a little too early. He stepped on the base and made an unassisted double play to end the inning! Yes, dad was proud! At any rate, he ran in to the dugout and had the biggest smile on his face and was getting high fives from all his teammates. He then looked over at me and I gave him a big smile and a thumb’s up sign. I told him great play! You see, the inning before it was all he could do to look at me because he missed the second grounder in as many innings. The key is what I told him the inning before. I told him that Nick Punto, the 3rd baseman for the Minnesota Twins, (our favorite team) makes errors too. The key is that he comes back the next inning and makes great plays. I told my son how important it is to believe you will make the next play. He looked at me and said as only a 10 year old can, “Dad, I have the errors worked out of me for tonight!”
The final impression I took from the game tonight was from the coach. Coach Steve has really proven two things this season. First, he has a love for kids and how to teach them to play baseball. His skills in teaching trickle into all areas of these young boys’ lives. When someone messes up a play, he corrects them and immediately follows it up with a positive. Wouldn’t it be great if this were to hold true in our areas of life as adults as well? Lastly, the coach always ends each game with a cheer for the other team. As they line up to shake hands at home plate after each game, the coach calls them in to a huddle and the yell…Two, Four, Six, Eight….who do we appreciate? The Nationals! (or the name of whatever team we happen to be playing that night) It is amazing to watch the other team’s reaction. Tonight I heard a kid yell out…”Hey! That’s Us!” You see, win or lose, they cheer the other team every game. These boys are blessed with having a coach that is instilling them with not only baseball skills but life lessons as well.
Ok, time for the “baseball” wrap up for today. What can this teach all of us? First of all, when we have a positive outlook on any and everything we do, things just seem to go better! Illya has come from a lot of challenges in his life, but he smiles and smiles all game long! You will never know the score of the game, whether he just hit a home run or struck out by his face and attitude. We all can learn from Illya and his focus on being happy!
The next thing to take away from this game tonight is to believe! You have to believe that your job will go better. You have to believe that your financial situation will be better. You have to believe that your relationships with those you love will improve and blossom. Belief is the precursor to anything good happening. Unfortunately it is also the precursor to anything bad happening if you don’t believe. If you tell yourself you can’t do something, the odds of you accomplishing it are exactly zero! You gotta believe!
Finally, we all need a “coach” in our lives. Maybe it is a co-worker, a trusted relative or a good friend. If we really think about it, there are “coaches” all around us. The key is whether or not we take the time to learn and listen to their instruction. Find your “coach” in life and really take the time to hear what they say. At times, we may not see the wisdom in their words, but stick with them! Coaches usually all have one thing in common. They want you to succeed! Once we realize that they are our biggest cheerleaders and fans, we can truly apply what they teach us to reach levels we would never even dream about on our own! Find your coach and step up to the plate!

The 10 "P's" to Success
What on earth are the 10 “P’s”?
I just wanted to pass this along to you. I just finished listening to Malcom Peters who has achieved remarkable success in his life. He is straight and to the point.
He has a 10 P system to success in any aspect of life. This is applicable to your work, your relationships and anything you want to be successful at in life.
Here they are:
Purpose: You must have a purpose for whatever you do. This is your “why” for doing anything. Your purpose may be to be the best parent you can be. Maybe it is to be the best spouse. Maybe it is to be the best at your work. Maybe it is to be the first person in your family to achieve business success. Whatever you do, you must have a clearly defined purpose.
Planning: Without a plan you will certainly will not achieve what you want. Without a plan you are like a marksman shooting at a target that you can’t see. Not only is it dangerous, but your odds for success are nil. The old saying of plan your work and work your plan has never been more true!
Preparation: You must have a system and/or support in place to be successful. Perhaps you want to spend more time at home with your family. The system you must have in place must allow for this time to occur. Systems are a vital part to preparing yourself for success.
Positive Attitude: 90+% of succeeding is your attitude. Have you ever caught yourself saying something like: “I can’t do this.” or “This won’t work for me.” When you say things like this, guess what will happen?!! You will achieve exactly what you told yourself you can’t. In other words, you will affirm what you thought or said. Change your attitude a little each day and you will be amazed at what you can accomplish! For help in this area, visit Positive Attitude
Posture: Have you ever watched someone walking towards you? Isn’t it amazing what you can perceive about them before they even arrive face to face with you? If they have had a horrible day, their shoulders are slumped, they look like they haven’t slept in a week and there is a big ugly frown on their face. When they do greet you, isn’t it almost always with a down tone in their voice? Isn’t the opposite true too? When a person walking towards you has a spring in their step, a smile on their face and their voice is usually cheery and full of energy. Your own posture in person or even talking with a friend on the phone will tell far more than your words ever will!

Discover what a Teacher Learned about the Law of Attraction
Today I wanted to tell you a story about how the law of attraction
has worked specifically for my family in the last two weeks.
My wife is an elementary teacher by trade. She taught for 7 years
before taking a leave of absence to raise our two great kids and
stay at home with them. She didn't know at the time that this would
end up being a 10 year leave from teaching, but here is the law of
attraction part that comes in.
You see, my wife and I have really been applying the concepts found
in the teachings of the law of attraction over the past six months.
We are also very involved with our church and have a strong
Christian faith. We have learned and studied the law of attraction
from a Biblical/Scriptural basis and do not believe that the two
are mutually exclusive. One of the resources that has been
tremendously helpful in our study is a book written by Daniel

Back to the story. My wife has worked in a paid position at our
church as the Director of Children’s Ministry and Coordinator of
Children’s Education for the past 5 years. This has evolved into a
30 hour per week position. She really worked much more than the 30
hours and the requested to go full time to be able to minister to
the children in our church in a much more effective manner. To make
a long story longer, the church indicated that they would make her
position full time. After not hearing any more about the position,
my wife decided to take the required classes to renew her teaching
license. She then proceeded to submit her application to our local
school district. Here is where the Law of Attraction and our faith
and prayers come into play.
We prayed and envisioned for her to be in a teaching position. We
trusted God to open doors and contacts while still applying the
concepts of the law of attraction as well. She was late in getting
her application in but was still able to be put into the pool of
over 2000 applicants. The district looked at the applications and
then reduced the pool of possible teachers down to 435. Of these
remaining applicants, they chose 100 people for first
interviews...and yes, my wife made the first two cuts! At this
point, many more people where praying and seeing her as being a
teacher again. The law of attraction and God were at work! She went
through the first interview and was immediately called one day
later to schedule a second interview. The best part of this all is
that she was called back for the second interview even before they
were through interviewing the first 100 people! They still had over
50 people to go! Now, out of the 100 people that had first
interviews, they only brought 18 people in for second interviews!
So out of 2000 applicants, only 18 people made the final interview
process! Wow am I proud of my wife! All along, we kept praying and
seeing her as a teacher. The manifestation of her goal was now in
sight!
This past week, she received the call! They offered her a contract
EVEN BEFORE THEY MET TO DISCUSS THE 18 CANDIDATES
AND WHICH 12 THEY WERE GOING TO HIRE!! Can you imagine
what it is like to realize what you have believed, envisioned and prayed for?
Needless to say, this has been a rather lengthy story that I hope
will help you to realize that whatever you desire for your life is
within your grasp! You have to reach out and grab it, see yourself
as already being there and applying the principles of the law of
attraction on a daily basis to manifest your true abundance.

How to Start an Online Business
So, you are looking at starting an online business. If you have done any searching on the web for an opportunity, you know by now that the sea of business ventures to pursue online are about as vast as there are web pages. So where does one go to find out how to begin?
Lets first look at what type of businesses there are to become affiliated with.
MLM's
A MLM opportuinty is one where you join through a sponsor. There is an underlying company that has a product/products that you are a "distributor" for. There is a downline/upline concept here in play. The person that sponsored you into the business has a sponsor and that person in turn has a sponsor etc etc etc. The pro's of an MLM are that you can build a very nice business over time with a substantial residual income. Most companies have a fairly good product that has commissions built into the price. The con's are many people begin a MLM business and most stop working or building the business. It will take 4-8 months to build an income higher than that of your monthly product purchase. Overall, if you join an MLM, make sure you have either patience or a lot of cash to build your business to a point where it actually resembles an added monthly income.
Money Schemes
A lot has been made of "HYIP"'s (high yield investment programs) and similar "businesses". A word to the wise is to be very very careful of any plan that has you paying members and the transfer of money being the primary product that is involved. Many have realized that without a solid real product, they have run afoul of US and other countries laws. As a result, most have found "software" that they now offer as their "product". This software is usually found for free elsewhere on the net and is usually outdated. Just be careful when you part with your money in this type online opportunity and realize that it could be a scam.
Chain Letters/Gifting Programs
These programs, which are still prevelant online, are programs that you should run from as fast as you can. Most countries have deemed them illegal and if you receive infomation on these, report it as spam (unless it came from your Uncle Gus and then straighten him out!). Again, run don't walk away!
Online Auctions/Stores
There is an opportunity to make money through online auctions or online stores. The rise of auction sites such as EBay (trade mark) and others have made it almost fun to shop online. A MLM opportuinty is one where you join through a sponsor. There is an underlying company that has a product/products that you are a "distributor" for. There is a downline/upline concept here in play. The person that sponsored you into the business has a sponsor and that person in turn has a sponsor etc etc etc. The pro's of an MLM are that you can build a very nice business over time with a substantial residual income. Most companies have a fairly good product that has commissions built into the price. The con's are many people begin a MLM business and most stop working or building the business. It will take 4-8 months to build an income higher than that of your monthly product purchase. Overall, if you join an MLM, make sure you have either patience or a lot of cash to build your business to a point where it actually resembles an added monthly income.
Money Schemes
A lot has been made of "HYIP"'s (high yield investment programs) and similar "businesses". A word to the wise is to be very very careful of any plan that has you paying members and the transfer of money being the primary product that is involved. Many have realized that without a solid real product, they have run afoul of US and other countries laws. As a result, most have found "software" that they now offer as their "product". This software is usually found for free elsewhere on the net and is usually outdated. Just be careful when you part with your money in this type online opportunity and realize that it could be a scam.
Chain Letters/Gifting Programs
These programs, which are still prevelant online, are programs that you should run from as fast as you can. Most countries have deemed them illegal and if you receive infomation on these, report it as spam (unless it came from your Uncle Gus and then straighten him out!). Again, run don't walk away!
